When you’re an adult, you don’t really think about your godparents. But when I was a kid, I loved knowing that if anything happened to my parents, my Aunt Leesa and Uncle Carlos would take me in and I would be safe and loved and fed and fussed over.
On the southern tip of the Nicoya Penninsula is an island that is home to a cemetery that I first learned about on @strongsenseof.
Almost a year ago, I came to Costa Rica for the first time. Frank and I were here to visit his sister, celebrate his birthday and mark my transition from my old job. This weekend, I’m marking another round of firsts. Momentous occasions, major moves and all the joys that pure life brings. Not a squeaky clean pura vida, but one filled with contractions and expansions, separation and togetherness, new chapters and very old ones.
